Political Bullshite

Okay, I know I haven't posted much recently, so here I am with a politically charged rant.

What the hell is wrong with Republicans? I've been reading news articles lately and all I can think is, "wtf?"

GOP leaders say Obama's plan is irresponsible

Drawing attention to the linked article, here are a couple choice quotes:

"Washington shouldn't be spending money that we don't have," House Republican Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia said in his response to Obama's speech. He said Republicans will work with Obama, but they will not betray core principles.

"The way to lead is not to raise taxes and put more money and power in hands of Washington politicians," said Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who gave the Republican Party's official response. The massive economic stimulus bill recently enacted by Obama and congressional Democrats, Jindal said, will expand the government, "increase our taxes down the line, and saddle future generations with debt."

"It's irresponsible," said Jindal, who is eyeing a presidential bid in 2012 and frequently cited his accomplishments in Louisiana.

Um... and what about the last eight years with the Bush Administration? The administration under which we gained such a huge debt? The administration under which we plummeted into recession? The administration under which millions of Americans have lost jobs? Yeah, what you're saying there Eric makes as much sense as as an intoxicated priest drunkenly wandering through the halls of a school for the blind yelling out "Phlargen shmargh derven splorch!"

All that aside, Obama has been president for nearly a month. You republicans are lambasting him attempting to revive the mess YOU caused. Give the man some time. You gave Bush eight years to screw this nation over like a grade A whore in a house of ill repute. Just let Obama have his four years without whining like the sore losers you are. And to take a line from King of the Hill, "Quiet Bobby." Its a bit early for the next election.

Hey, you know what? I'm going to go ahead and call it now. When Obama DOES get our economy back on the track to prosperity and we see the deficit shrinking, I'm willing to bet that the Republicans are going to start saying "Yeah, Obama didn't do that. It was the actions of our great former President Bush that started the economy on the rise cause we all really know that it takes about eight years for a presidents work to show through." Well, not quite like that. Throw in a few big fancy words, political drama, and throw common sense and intelligence in equal measure out the window and I'm pretty sure you'll have the Republican response.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go wash my mouth with lye for saying that Bush was a great president. Bleh, better make it a double whammy.
